Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Speech courses at Everglades University. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment, and contributing to the growth and development of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Responsibilities
    • Develop and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods to promote student engagement and understanding.
    • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to promote growth and improvement.
  • Classroom Management
    • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student learning and well-being.
    • Use effective classroom management techniques to minimize disruptions and maximize student engagement.
    • Ensure that all students have access to necessary resources and accommodations.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and university administrators to ensure a smooth and successful academic experience.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
    • Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives to promote student success and retention.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with best practices in teaching and learning by attending workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
    • Participate in peer review and feedback to improve teaching and learning.
    • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Speech or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Speech courses at the post-secondary level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning.
