Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Vulcan Materials Company. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of mobile equipment, as well as performing general physical activities to support plant operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the operation, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others at all times
  • Repair and maintain mobile equipment to maximize performance and minimize downtime
  • Inspect equipment and materials to identify and troubleshoot errors, performing repairs as needed
  • Handle and move objects safely throughout the shop and plant
  • Document and record information accurately, including service reports for mobile equipment
  • Operate equipment as needed to ensure efficient production
  • Perform general physical activities, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials

Qualifications:

  • Experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours, as well as in various weather conditions
  • Mechanical skills, including knowledge of industrial tools and their maintenance
