Position Overview

What You Will Do: Under general supervision, you will oversee the execution and performance of mechanical retrofit initiatives. Your role involves adhering to standardized project management procedures to achieve financial success on assigned projects. You will coordinate daily activities of mechanics and subcontractors, while also securing new work and change orders from existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and manage mechanical projects effectively.
  • Ensure the mechanical retrofit process aligns with company standards.
  • Facilitate the resolution of product-related issues.
  • Estimate mechanical work and present proposals to clients.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the sales team, assisting in project development and conducting pre-bid reviews.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise project team members.
  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with support teams on layout and detailing for job installations.
  • Analyze financial reports and project schedules to proactively manage risks.
  • Provide ongoing cost analysis and manage financial reporting systems.
  • Utilize standard tracking tools to communicate project progress and financial status.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements that lead to value-added change orders.
  • Manage asset control, including collections and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, local codes, and installation techniques.
  • Negotiate procurement of materials and resolve disputes.
  • Oversee material logistics and warehousing processes.
  • Maintain high-quality written communications and ensure document control compliance.
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Lead job progress meetings and ensure subcontractors understand project expectations.
  • Coordinate the transition of project close-out to the appropriate team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards by all team members and subcontractors.

What We Look For:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training preferred.
  • Six or more years of comprehensive knowledge in the service industry, particularly in fast-track retrofit and tenant improvement projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team on projects up to $2M in revenue.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial accounting systems.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environments.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred:

  • Two to four years of engineering or trade school training.
  • Seven or more years of installation and service experience with HVAC mechanical systems.
  • HVAC License for relevant regions.
