This is a Part-Time role.

The Pastry and Coffee Shop Associate at 100 Ocean is responsible for creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for every guest. From the presentation of pastry displays to the upkeep of equipment, this role ensures that service standards are not only met but exceeded by delivering high-quality coffee and pastry selections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with each customer to provide exceptional service.
  • Identify customer preferences and recommend products to enhance their experience and achieve sales targets.
  • Assist customers in choosing specialty coffee drinks, whole bean products, and baked goods.
  • Prepare beverages and heat food according to established recipes to ensure consistency.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and express gratitude to every patron.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the service area and equipment.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to fulfilling customer needs.
  • Prepare a variety of beverage orders, including espresso and coffee drinks, adhering to recipe standards.
  • Follow all operational procedures and complete daily checklists for opening and closing.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and sanitation tasks to uphold a safe food environment.
  • Present oneself professionally and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Adhere to brand standards for product merchandising, stocking, and storage.
  • Perform equipment maintenance as per preventive maintenance guidelines.
  • Comply with cash handling and register protocols.
  • Follow inventory management procedures.
  • Wear the designated uniform to represent the 100 Ocean brand appropriately.

Qualifications:

Must possess effective communication skills in English. A self-motivated personality with a positive attitude is essential. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. Ability to collaborate with team members and assist with various duties as needed. Capable of using point-of-sale systems and lifting/carrying weights up to 50 pounds, as well as pushing/pulling carts weighing up to 150 pounds.
