Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Sonic Healthcare USA. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for resolving problems related to specimen integrity, volume, and test clarification, ensuring high-quality patient care and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize technical skills and abilities to accurately resolve customer-related issues.
- Follow laboratory procedures to resolve problems and ensure specimen integrity.
- Correctly identify problems and resolve them internally if possible, or escalate to other departments as needed.
- Provide specimen requirements, reference ranges, and information on specimen stability to clients and laboratory staff.
- Document all communication for follow-up and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and front-end automation equipment.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and customer service to ensure quality patient care.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum training or experience in specimen collection and/or processing.
- Preferred two years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and handling, and processing, or related healthcare field experience.
- Excellent telephone and communication skills, with a professional image and pleasant demeanor.
- Ability to read and write.
This role requires light to medium lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. You will work in a temperature-controlled environment with constant exposure to biological and chemical hazards. May be required to operate fire and safety equipment or follow other safety procedures in an emergency situation.
