The Aircraft Component Assembly Specialist is a full-time role dedicated to the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and tagging of aircraft components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intricate production assembly tasks on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems, utilizing manual operations. This includes adhering to approved assembly protocols for components or aircraft structures, referencing internal procedures sanctioned by the FAA, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) technical documentation, and work package instructions.
  • Employ extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair methodologies, including the replacement of components.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of aircraft structural modifications and repairs, with the capability to assess the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
  • Utilize specialized aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and sheet metal tools.
  • Apply professional technical expertise to execute complex structural tasks, including but not limited to pull holes, match & back drilling, fastener removals, riveting, sleeve bolt drilling, and installations of systems, wires, and tubes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to carry out structural modifications and repairs.
  • Maintain all necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for the assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in the removal and restoration of aircraft assemblies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, coupled with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in assembling aircraft or aerospace parts, components, and/or assemblies in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing plans.
  • Ability to construct, install, dismantle, relocate, modify, and/or repair OEM equipment of various types.
  • Proficient in understanding wiring schematics and reading manuals for component installation.
