Position Summary:

The Aircraft Wheel and Brake Technician will operate under limited supervision, adhering to technical documentation and guidelines to conduct inspections, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft wheels and brakes. This role also involves performing non-destructive testing on various aircraft components to identify any defects or irregularities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement process controls to ensure all equipment is calibrated according to company standards.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment as necessary.
  • Adhere to established procedures and inspection methods using diverse equipment to fulfill tasks effectively.
  • May oversee and mentor NDT trainees and Level I technicians.
  • Execute repairs and overhauls on aircraft wheels and brakes in compliance with regulatory requirements, including the removal of worn tires, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of components.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of all activities and parts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's Degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • Active NDT Level II certification is required; re-certification may be necessary if not currently active.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for export compliance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Non-Destructive Testing across multiple disciplines (Magnetic Particle, Fluorescent Penetrant, Ultrasonic, or Eddy Current) is preferred.
  • Experience should encompass conducting non-destructive tests, documenting results, and interpreting maintenance manuals to ensure test precision.
  • Proficient in reading, comprehending, and writing in English.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods at workstations.
  • Capable of performing repetitive hand and arm movements during assembly tasks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs.
