Job Description

Millennium Health LLC is a leading specialty laboratory with a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services. Our mission is to provide objective information to healthcare professionals to monitor the use and misuse of prescription medications and illicit drugs.

The EH&S Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environmental health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This includes maintaining safety equipment inventory, performing periodic safety inspections, monitoring hazardous waste removal vendors, and assisting in consolidating hazardous waste.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with experience in developing and implementing safety programs, conducting training sessions, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The EH&S Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure a safe work environment and will be responsible for interacting with regulatory agencies, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Develop and implement environmental health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain safety equipment inventory, perform periodic safety inspections, and monitor hazardous waste removal vendors.
  • Assist in consolidating hazardous waste and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for employees on environmental health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Manage safety committee activities, including agenda preparation, reports, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees at all levels.
  • Manage and perform periodic safety walks with department managers, safety committee, insurance carriers, or consultants.
  • Work in partnership with the Human Resources team to support Onboarding and Orientation safety training.
  • Support the submission of workers' compensation claims.
  • Support communications with clinics regarding injuries and status.
  • Manage completion of monthly injury reports.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all issues related to the position.
  • Adaptability to perform under stress when confronted with emergent, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations.
  • Prepare internal and external presentations.
  • Support yearly budget review and development.
  • Perform and/or oversee all the responsibilities of EH&S Specialists or other staff.
  • Ensures technical excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of staff.
  • Seldom travel may be required (up to 5-10% of the time).
  • Ability to ensure HIPAA, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
  • Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience; Master's degree and 8+ years of related experience. Additional professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • 8+ years progressively complex EH&S experience, preferably with at least two of those years having management responsibilities
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of practices and methods for developing and administering a comprehensive EH&S program, including designing employee EH&S training programs.
  • Must be proficient in performing EH&S assessments to identify workplace hazards and determining appropriate control measures.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of the methods and practices for conducting accident and workplace safety audits and investigations.
  • Must demonstrate an extensive technical understanding of environmental health and safety principles, concepts, theories, regulations, and practices; and comprehensive leadership skills including organizing, planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating workloads to meet established deadline or milestones; and the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Must possess: (1) the ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and resolve unusually complex management and technical problems; (2) excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings; (3) excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees, senior management and senior outside representatives.

Potential Hiring Range:

  • Salary Range: $120,000/ yr. – 130,000 /yr.
  • Salary offered is dependent on qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
