Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a Polysomnographic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies, preparing patients and equipment for testing, and interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies
  • Prepare patients and equipment for testing
  • Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures
  • Perform and document testing
  • Monitor patients throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing
  • Determine and report needed repairs or replacements
Requirements
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required
  • Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Tennessee Polysomnography Professional Standards Committee obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date required
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required
