Position Overview

As a CVOR Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care within a cardiovascular surgical environment. This position demands a high level of expertise and a thorough understanding of cardiovascular procedures and perioperative practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients prior to surgical procedures to determine their health requirements and formulate care strategies.
  • Instrumentation Management: Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use, while also managing supplies and monitoring devices.
  • Intraoperative Care: Provide direct nursing care during surgical operations, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and addressing any emergencies that may occur.
  • Postoperative Care: Offer comprehensive care to patients following surgery, focusing on vital sign monitoring, pain management, and recognizing potential complications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and current medical records, documenting all patient care activities diligently.
  • Continuous Education: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest practices and advancements in cardiovascular surgery and perioperative care.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid RN license along with extensive experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting. Essential qualities include strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to perform well under pressure. Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical techniques and a solid understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology are highly advantageous.
