Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a robust talent pipeline to identify and attract qualified candidates, manage employee attrition, and meet diversity, equity, and inclusion workforce goals.
  • Advertise vacancies on various job search platforms and social media channels, ensuring a strong online presence.
  • Sources and develops passive candidates through networking, cold calling, complex internet searches, social media, research, and other active outreach methodologies.
  • Builds and fosters relationships with external partners regarding diversity and community outreach strategies.
  • Attends community events and job fairs to promote job opportunities and engage with potential candidates.
  • Reviews job applications and identifies candidates meeting minimum qualifications for positions.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, answering related inquiries via phone and email.
  • Collaborates with Hiring Managers to update job descriptions, finalize interview questions and written assessment materials.
  • Conducts intake conversations with Hiring Managers to understand job requirements, core competencies of the ideal candidate, and walk them through the full cycle recruitment process.
  • Serves as the Human Resources representative in panel interviews as needed.
  • Extends job offers to candidates, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and hiring policies.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping related to the hiring process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and three to five (3-5) years' work experience in recruiting, sales, sourcing, customer service, operations, and/or human resources; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or an applicable field.
  • Multilingual skills in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian-Creole, Mandarin, Nepali, or any other language spoken by the Somerville community.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including but not limited to FLSA, ADA, MCAD, and EEO.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best hiring practices.
