MediLodge offers U.S. Department of Labor approved apprenticeship programs designed to help non-certified staff transition to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and advance nurses along their clinical career paths to roles such as Unit Managers, Assistant Directors of Nursing, and Directors of Nursing.
Position Overview:
As a Practical Nurse, you will coordinate and deliver nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility while supervising and guiding clinical staff. Your responsibilities may vary based on state-specific regulations outlined in the Nurse Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document residents' conditions and nursing requirements.
- Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly.
- Assign nursing duties to team members based on residents' needs and staff qualifications.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff and CNAs.
- Administer medications and treatments for assigned residents, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
- Ensure economical use of supplies and maintain equipment in a safe condition.
- Report and document relevant observations regarding residents.
- Coordinate nursing care for residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
- Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.
- Participate in the hiring process and provide recommendations for staff.
- Supervise the nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Promote positive interpersonal relationships and enhance staff morale.
- Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained and communicate needs for support services.
