Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for the use of diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. Your expertise will also be required to prepare and care for patients undergoing radiologic testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Confirm patient identification and review imaging requests
Explain imaging procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as required
Follow orders from physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging
Correctly position the patient and adjust the imaging equipment to the appropriate position
Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to yourself and the patient by taking appropriate protection precautions
Calibrate imaging equipment
Prepare results for physician review
Maintain accurate patient records
Requirements:
1 year of experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist
BLS certification
ARRT (R) National Certification
State-specific licensing when required
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
