Job Summary:

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Operating Room team. As a member of our team, you will provide direct patient care and assist with various medical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications as ordered by a licensed physician or dentist under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assist patients with toileting, collecting and labeling specimens for examination, and assisting patients in and out of bed.
  • Provide fresh water and between meal nourishment, and assist with feedings as directed.
  • Perform other assigned work such as cleaning utility room cupboards, collecting and bagging soiled linen, and cleaning, sterilizing, and storing instruments and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Must have a temporary permit or a valid license as a practical nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Must maintain CPR certification.
