Job Summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a skilled Critical Care Technician to join our team. As a Critical Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our critical care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established hospital policies.
  • Accurately check and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Collect specimens as directed by licensed nurses.
  • Promptly respond to call lights and provide necessary assistance to patients in a timely manner.
  • Report patient changes, problems, complaints, or requests to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment and supplies in the critical care unit.
  • Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) and phlebotomy procedures as directed.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • No previous experience required, but a willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Reasoning, Mathematical, and Language Development

As a Critical Care Technician, you will be expected to apply common sense and technical skills to provide high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for dealing with problems involving several variables in standardized situations and making decisions based on established policies and procedures.

You will also be required to perform basic arithmetic operations, such as addition and subtraction, and understand units of measurement, such as cups, pints, and quarts.

Effective communication is essential in this role, and you will be expected to speak clearly and confidently with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
