Director of Client Accounting Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Client Accounting to join our team at Balance Financial Management. As a key member of our financial services team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our accounting teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the accounting teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Manage a team of 3-4 Controllers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial services to clients.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with client goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our financial services and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of overall professional experience, with 6+ years of broad financial and operations management experience in a complex setting managing teams.
  • Proven track record of successful financial management, including experience developing and implementing strategies and staff, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to translate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate effectively with clients.
  • Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors.
