Key Responsibilities- Classroom Management: Develop and implement daily lesson plans that cater to the unique needs and abilities of each child, ensuring a nurturing and responsive environment that promotes social and emotional development.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with a co-teacher to ensure the successful operation of the classroom, sharing ideas and expertise to create a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Family Engagement: Foster strong relationships with families, working together to achieve meaningful progress and school readiness goals for each child.
- Curriculum Development: Implement developmentally and linguistically appropriate experiences that cater to the age, language, and culture of the children served.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Use observations and anecdotal notes to document children's progress, individualizing curriculum and making data-driven decisions to inform instruction.
- Professional Development: Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification, and participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, Infant/Toddler CDA with at least 120 training hours in Infant/Toddler content plus at least 480 hours of experience working with infant and toddlers. Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience preferred.
- Skills and Qualifications: Bilingual (desirable), understanding of infant-toddler development, age-appropriate expectations for pro-social behaviors, computer literacy skills, and ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Certifications and Clearances: Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certification, and meet the requirements of the agency's insurance carrier for a valid driver's license.
