Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Program Specialist II to join our team at the State of Maryland. This role will be responsible for performing research and analysis to support the implementation and maintenance of new workflows and project tasks related to enrollments, disenrollments, and updates to the Hospice enrollment system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Office of Enterprise Systems staff to support the implementation and maintenance of new workflows and project tasks.
  • Oversee the enrollment, disenrollments, and updates for Hospice participants in the current Cognito-based manual system.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trends associated with Hospice enrollments and claims.
  • Make recommendations on policy or procedure changes in accordance with State and federal regulations.
  • Provide guidance and direction to providers and participants based on analysis.
Requirements
  • Seven years of administrative or professional experience developing or applying policies and regulations in medical assistance, health insurance, federal or State entitlement programs.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of administrative or professional experience for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the related field of work for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hospice care experience.
  • Experience using MMIS applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
