Position Overview:
SOCOTEC Engineering is seeking a skilled CWI Inspector to become a vital part of our team. This role is integral to our specialty engineering efforts, focusing on failure analysis and fitness for service. The successful candidate will utilize AWS CWI inspection techniques across a variety of projects, including construction and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of AWS codes effectively in various projects.
  • Conduct field inspections and assessments to support specialty engineering initiatives.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate findings to project managers.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications as necessary.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, gathering and analyzing information to facilitate solutions.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years in an engineering setting, with over two years as an AWS CWI; knowledge of NDE/NDT is advantageous.
  • Practical mechanical and electrical skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Physical capability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted and perform tasks requiring bending, stretching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
