Role Duration: 12+ Months

We are looking for a highly skilled Windows Systems Architect with expertise in Active Directory Management and SharePoint Administration. This role involves formulating strategies for technical IT infrastructures and overseeing the completion of assigned engineering projects. The selected candidate will serve as a lead within a team of engineers focused on various technical domains, particularly in Database and Applications functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for Windows Servers, SharePoint Sites, and Active Directory Management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily operational issues, including code promotion and incident resolution.
  • Address search and indexing challenges, as well as site access issues.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and offer recommendations for optimization and maintenance efforts tailored to client-specific challenges.
  • Supervise studies, lead surveys, and perform data collection for analyses to advise on potential solutions.

Work Environment: The position is based at a client facility in Washington, DC, with a current allowance for remote work. However, candidates must be local to the Washington, DC metropolitan area to attend necessary meetings.

Core Duties Include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing server installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance in line with established IT policies.
  • Active Directory Management: Administer user and group accounts, manage endpoint devices, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • SharePoint Administration: Design and develop SharePoint sites, assist end-users with content maintenance, and create wireframes for client presentations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for critical server outages, providing timely updates to infrastructure management.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Monitor system performance and provide reports and statistics to achieve optimal operational levels.
  • Define and execute server backup and recovery procedures, participating in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Respond to Service Desk tickets and escalations in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with various IT functional areas to ensure server availability and reliability.
  • Provide off-hours support through a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a technical role supporting server environments.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in a technical position.
  • Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems (2012, 2016, 2019) and VMware technologies.
  • Experience in Active Directory Management, including user and group account administration.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Network Infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Proficient in ASP.NET, SQL Server, and application development.
  • Familiarity with APIs and web services for JSON consumption.
  • Competence in Microsoft PowerShell (version 5.0 or higher).
  • Experience with server monitoring tools and thorough knowledge of Active Directory DC design.
  • Prior experience with SharePoint implementation and ongoing site maintenance.
