Position Overview
As a Patient Access Associate I / Registration Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience at SCL Health. Your responsibilities will include:
- Patient Registration: Accurately register patients by confirming and updating demographic information in the registration system, while preventing duplicate records.
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance details and determine coordination of benefits, ensuring all necessary authorizations are obtained.
- Financial Counseling: Assist self-pay patients by explaining payment responsibilities and coordinating with financial counseling services.
- Payment Processing: Collect and document patient payments, providing accurate receipts and reconciling transactions.
- Communication: Address patient inquiries regarding billing and account information, escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Preferred experience of at least one year in a service-oriented environment.
