With a wealth of collective experience, we merge creativity with technology, driven by diverse perspectives that ignite imagination. Following the merger of VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson, we have embarked on a transformative journey as a growth partner that embodies the essence of a creative agency, consultancy, and technology leader.

Our global workforce comprises over 30,000 professionals across 150+ offices in 64 markets, fostering a culture that values connections, inclusivity, and the strength derived from diversity. Our extensive expertise spans the entire customer journey, offering profound insights in communications, commerce, consultancy, CRM, CX, data, production, and technology. We design holistic solutions that lead to groundbreaking results.

Position Overview:

As the core of performance marketing excellence within VML, our mission is to develop and execute media strategies that are results-oriented. Unlike other agencies that adopt a channel-centric perspective, we prioritize crafting strategies with a goal-driven approach—becoming true partners with our clients in understanding their business, competitive landscape, and ultimately, their goals and aspirations. We also identify target audiences based on these objectives and engage with them across various paid, owned, and earned platforms.

Our team is guided by three fundamental principles:
  • Flexible media plans
  • Insightful audience targeting
  • Strict accountability for outcomes
To support our initiatives, VML is seeking a Media Strategist responsible for seamlessly executing media campaigns for our clients. This role entails operationalizing digital media strategies on specific platforms. A Channel Media Strategist provides guidance on account configurations that help achieve our clients' objectives. Responsibilities include designing and managing digital campaigns across one or more channels (Search, Social, Display, Video, Native & More) linked to specific client accounts to fulfill strategic media setups within VML's digital media standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain insights into the client's industry, offerings, and brands
  • Integrate channel insights into media strategies
  • Thorough understanding of channel activation methods
  • Segment channels within platforms to achieve objectives outlined in the media plan
  • Develop Trafficking briefs based on existing media plans/strategies
  • Monitor campaigns and ensure their status (live/paused/ended)
  • Manage digital platform spend and track performance pace
  • Create Platform Trafficking Sheets from Requirements Briefs
  • Upload/edit digital campaigns on Digital Media Platforms (Facebook Business Manager, DV360, Google Ads, SA360, Bing ads, LinkedIn & More)
  • Utilize and interpret extensive data for bulk changes and uploads of campaigns
  • Navigate through all necessary digital platforms to serve clients
  • Identify optimization needs within platforms and implement changes to enhance performance
  • Maintain a log of optimization entries
  • Incorporate paid media capabilities across various service lines: SEO, Development, Reporting, Client Services, and Strategy
Additional Essential Duties:
  • Understand the client's business, industry, and related offerings
  • Recognize integration between Paid Media and other departments - Analytics, SEO/Content, Strategy, Accounts, Tech, and Project Management
  • Validate Media invoices against platform spends
  • Explore additional channel operations and continue enhancing digital media knowledge
  • Provide insights on operational evolutions in platforms
  • Operate effectively through all necessary channels to serve clients
  • Follow directives from the Media Account lead to successfully execute campaigns
  • Implement best practices in digital media channel operations
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 Years Relevant Digital Work Experience
  • Minimum 2 years direct experience across Media channels
  • Proficiency in media operations for Search, Paid Social, and Display with an understanding of offline media's impact on outcomes
  • Proven ability to develop paid media plans aligned with a broader strategy
  • Ability to leverage data for audience segmentation
  • Familiarity with metrics defining successful paid media strategies
  • Strong mathematical skills to translate data into coherent insights
  • Capacity to envision holistic, results-driven strategies and think creatively for clients
  • Experience interacting with clients at all levels on behalf of an agency
  • Demonstrated success in driving digital innovation and business development
  • Firm grasp of tools and platforms such as SA360, DV360, Google Ads, Bing Ads, The Trade Desk, Facebook Business Manager, Google Merchant Center, and various analytics suites
Benefits of Joining Us:
  • Dedicated and driven team | We cultivate a community of individuals who deliver exceptional work.
  • Thoughtfully cultivated environment | We strive to embody behaviors that shape an inclusive environment rooted in collaboration, positivity, and active communication, aiming to inspire creative courage.
  • Competitive benefits package | Our comprehensive benefits for full-time employees encompass various group health coverage options (medical, dental, vision), a generous 401k match (100% dollar-for-dollar match, up to 5% of salary contribution), and a range of paid time off options that reflect our commitment to your overall well-being and work-life balance.
  • Career growth opportunities | We endeavor to cultivate a culture of real-time feedback, a mindset geared towards growth, and ample training avenues through VML and WPP, enabling you to advance personally and professionally.
