Position Summary
As a vital part of our expanding Food & Beverage + Events program, our Event Hospitality Specialists deliver exceptional service and beverage experiences for our members and guests at NeueHouse. Reporting to the Food & Beverage + Private Events team, Event Hospitality Specialists act as ambassadors for NeueHouse, showcasing expertise in coffee, tea, table, and cocktail service.
Our specialists embody the essence of NeueHouse by providing warmth, hospitality, and grace in every interaction with our members, their guests, and the public. Attentive yet unobtrusive, they seek opportunities to enhance our Food & Beverage + Private Event offerings while authentically promoting the brand. The team at NeueHouse operates with a philosophy that no task is too small, and Event Hospitality Specialists must navigate ambiguity while supporting all departments to meet the needs of the house.
Key Responsibilities
The Event Hospitality Specialist role requires individuals who are prepared to:
- Consistently deliver personalized and thoughtful service to build rapport with members and guests.
- Ensure the event space is properly set up and ready for service according to the event function sheet provided by the production team.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the food and beverage catering display.
- Return all event supplies to their designated locations promptly after the event concludes.
- Possess a thorough understanding of menus and communicate them to guests in an engaging and informed manner.
- Utilize POS systems effectively for ordering and billing purposes.
- Execute the service cycle efficiently and accurately, from greeting guests to processing payments.
- Prepare all food and beverages to the standards set by NeueHouse.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of all beverage offerings, including coffee, tea, non-alcoholic drinks, wines, beers, and spirits.
- Communicate with the prep kitchen to ensure all areas are stocked with food and beverage items, notifying the purchaser when supplies are low.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including surfaces and equipment.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation protocols.
- Organize and manage various areas of the event supplies storage facilities.
- Engage with members, guests, and potential members regarding NeueHouse's exhibitions, programs, pricing, and amenities.
Qualifications
We seek candidates who possess:
- Prior experience as an Event Server is advantageous.
- Proficiency in brewing methods and operation of espresso machines.
- The ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Strong attendance and punctuality, ensuring responsibilities are managed in their absence.
- Dependability in following instructions, responding to management directives, and completing tasks on time.
- Exceptional customer service skills, responding promptly to member and guest needs, and actively seeking feedback to enhance service.
- A collaborative spirit with the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
- A proactive approach to resolving issues and clear communication with both members and colleagues.
- A diverse educational and training background is valued in consideration of this role.
