Job Responsibilities:
As a Parole Officer, you will engage in professional duties related to the rehabilitation, supervision, and management of adult inmates transitioning back into society as parolees. This role involves:
- Conducting assessments and gathering information on housing, employment, and treatment plans for parolees.
- Collaborating with inmates, parolees, families, potential employers, and agency personnel.
- Performing tasks under close supervision initially, with increasing independence as you gain experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Legal Authorization: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States, or otherwise authorized for unrestricted employment.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, including at least twelve semester credit hours in behavioral sciences such as psychology, sociology, or criminal justice.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of six months of relevant professional experience in counseling or similar fields aimed at assisting individuals and groups in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates who receive conditional offers of employment will undergo drug screening and an extensive background check. Drug testing costs will be the responsibility of the applicant.
