POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Support Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome and assistance. This role is essential in managing communication systems and ensuring smooth operations within the organization.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required; additional experience in social services or non-profit sectors is advantageous.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary contact for visitors through various channels including in-person, phone, and electronic communications.
- Utilize conflict resolution skills to effectively manage challenging interactions.
- Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and manage mail distribution.
- Assist clients in completing necessary documentation for programs.
- Support the organization and maintenance of the food pantry.
- Participate in the distribution of food items, ensuring compliance with record-keeping standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in public areas and assist in cleaning as needed.
- Work collaboratively with staff and clients to foster a safe and welcoming environment.
- Exhibit professionalism in all interactions within the office setting.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support the organization.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
A valid driver's license and insured vehicle are necessary for job-related travel. Background checks including driving and criminal history, as well as random drug screenings, will be conducted.
