Caregiver - Resident Support Specialist

Job Summary
As a Caregiver - Resident Support Specialist at Efficus, Inc., you will provide direct care to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your responsibilities will include monitoring skin condition, mouth care, bowel status, nutrition, hydration, and incontinence, as well as documenting care given. You will also report any changes in condition to the nurse and participate in facility education programs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct care to residents as assigned
Identify special resident problems and changes in condition and report them immediately to supervisor
Initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of supervisor
Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action
Participate in facility education programs
Follow facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies
Participate in resident care conferences and other facility meetings as assigned
Review care plans and perform care as outlined
Document the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident's response to care provided
Listen to resident and family complaints and concerns and report to nurse
Answer call lights promptly
Assist residents with meals or feeds residents as necessary and accurately record fluid intake, percentage of food taken
Toilet and accurately document results
Accurately measure and record output as necessary
Weigh residents and take vital signs as assigned
Follow infection control policies
Follow Resident's Rights policies
Maintain resident's unit and belongings in a clean, orderly condition
Assure that resident's personal care items are labeled with resident's name
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
