Position: Textile Category Specialist

Location: Hybrid Role

Job Overview:
The Textile Category Specialist will manage import categories with a primary focus on textiles. This role encompasses supplier oversight, market analysis, sourcing efficiency, and financial evaluation. You will work closely with various teams to ensure smooth operations. Excellent communication and strategic planning abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a detailed list of suppliers that align with the overall sourcing strategy for core import categories.
  • Act as the main product authority and business representative for all direct spend textile import categories.
  • Assess and monitor supplier performance to guarantee compliance with contracts, quality benchmarks, delivery schedules, and cost objectives, conducting regular business reviews with key suppliers to enhance relationships and drive improvements.
  • Perform market research and analyze trends to remain updated on market dynamics, competitor actions, and industry changes.
  • Identify and propose re-sourcing opportunities to refine sourcing strategies and boost operational efficiency.
  • Present sourcing strategies for new account setups, providing consistent updates and alternatives throughout the process.
  • Support Product Development in sourcing the best suppliers and managing price negotiations for new products and programs.
  • Lead initiatives to map the supply chain for import programs.
  • Analyze monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Purchase Register reports for direct spend categories, ensuring alignment with purchasing plans and verifying accuracy and compliance.
  • Initiate and evaluate annual Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for core programs to ensure competitive pricing and supplier selection.
  • Conduct annual price negotiations and prepare the yearly budget for import categories.
  • Align reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis with the Domestic Category Manager to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Logistics, Legal, and Compliance to integrate international sourcing activities with overall business operations and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
  • Regularly update internal stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams, on sourcing activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in category management.
  • Strong negotiation skills for pricing and terms.
  • Expertise in identifying and selecting optimal sources with a focus on international markets.
  • Experience with textile products is essential; familiarity with uniform and textile-based facility services is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
