Project Engineer III - Substation /Relaying /Generation

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer III to join our team at Consulting Engineers for the Utility Industries in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading complex substation engineering projects, including physical layout design, protection and control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.

Prioritized Must-Have Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • Ability to mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the assigned team.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients to manage ongoing projects, ensure customer satisfaction, and handle future business and upcoming project plans.
  • Expertise in various aspects of substation engineering, including physical layout design, protection and control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
  • Responsible for and/or oversee project design activities, including performing engineering calculations, utilizing design software, and referring to relevant engineering procedures and manuals.
  • Prepare and review complex project documents, such as specifications and bid documents.
  • Conduct and direct detailed drawing reviews, ensuring plans are accurate, clear, and effectively represent the design intent.
  • Supervise and assist in the training of Project Engineers I and II.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
