Position: Principal Business Analyst, Sales Operations

The Higher Education North America Sales Operations team at Pearson is in search of a Principal Business Analyst who is a distinguished leader with a solid history of innovative analysis. This role requires extensive experience in synthesizing data and presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

We seek a collaborative partner who can drive the shift towards enhanced, data-informed business decisions for key initiatives and daily operations. This position will report to the Senior Director of Sales Operations and is designed to be remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the forecasting process and manage all related data, including analyzing trends and suggesting enhancements to processes and data visualization.
  • Track KPIs and discern patterns, trends, anomalies, and opportunities within the data, providing updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a thought leader and strategic innovator, consistently seeking ways to enhance reporting data to deliver valuable insights into sales productivity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, data teams, and Regional Business Partners across Sales Operations and the Data Center of Expertise (DCoE).
  • Represent Sales Operations in corporate initiatives that influence the efficiency and productivity of the sales organization.
  • Embrace curiosity about data; delve into data trends and summarize findings and recommendations clearly for diverse audiences.
  • Serve as the primary contact for collaboration with DCoE colleagues to generate new insights, including defining requirements for new tools and dashboards.
  • Ensure accuracy and update all regular executive presentation packages related to forecasting, pipeline, and sales performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Sales Operations, product management, finance, and others to prioritize and recommend strategic actions based on data analysis.
  • Integrate disparate data sets (e.g., internal sales data, opportunity information, and third-party data) to enhance critical business insights.
  • Provide both ad-hoc and sustained analysis as needed.
  • Exhibit proficiency in the technologies and tools utilized by the sales organization (Salesforce, Tableau).

Accountabilities:

  • Achieve or surpass established performance targets.
  • Serve as the primary contact for forecasting data and processes.
  • Facilitate connections with the DCoE.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to promote effective recommendations across the organization.
  • Provide detailed leadership on key trends and equip stakeholders to translate insights into actionable steps.
  • Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and successful work experience (graduate degree preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in data analysis, particularly in sales, operations, and/or finance.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to engage with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and manage upward.
  • Mastery of Excel; experience with Salesforce and Tableau is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10%.
