Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires a high level of motivation, organization, and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the continual operation of the Cooker machine while adhering to all OSHA standards, safety standards, and quality standards applicable according to Balchem Corporation's Policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with the Slurry Operator to ensure timely and efficient production.
  • Operate the Cooker machine, making necessary changes, and maintaining all necessary records, including loading, operation, and unloading.
  • Properly utilize the Programmable Logic Controller to load recipes and perform manual and auto cooker operations.
  • Maintain a sanitary work area, adhering to all OSHA standards and Balchem Corporation's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure a high level of awareness for all safety measures, including OSHA regulations and procedures set forth by Balchem Corporation's management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Strong motivation, organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Strong work ethics, including punctuality, dependability, and trustworthiness.
  • The ability to utilize common sense and skills in completing responsibilities and operating equipment conforming to Balchem Corporation's production and safety procedures.
  • The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
Working Conditions
  • Continual standing, walking, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Regularly required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, using proper ergonomic principles.
  • Periodically required to lift up to and above 50 and 100 pounds, utilizing safe and proper lift techniques and equipment.
  • Rarely required to sit.
  • Operation of equipment, including computers, drafting equipment, and instruments involving scientific meters and measuring devices.
  • The ability to distinguish colors.
  • Adherence to personal protective equipment policies and procedures.
