Job Title: Afterschool Technology Instructor

Alfond Youth and Community Center is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Afterschool Technology Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our after-school program, you will be responsible for teaching technology skills to school-age youth, promoting creativity and self-expression through technology, and providing a fun and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement technology lesson plans that align with program themes and curriculum standards.
  • Provide instruction and guidance on technology equipment, software, and online safety protocols.
  • Assist ASP teachers and administrators in utilizing technology in their classrooms and programs.
  • Research and recommend technology hardware and software acquisitions to enhance instruction and learning.
  • Assess and troubleshoot technology equipment and software issues to maintain a functional tech lab.
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, or Educational Instruction preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various technical equipment, including 3D printers, video cameras, microphones, computer hardware components, Apple TVs, iPads, Oculus VR sets, laptops, and desktop computers.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with school-age youth, preferably utilizing technology.
  • Prior technical experience in fields such as computer programming, graphic design, video production, social media content creation, audio engineering, 3D printing, robotics engineering, Minecraft coding, video game creation, or hardware repair is preferred.
