Position Overview:

In this role, you will deliver patient care through advanced imaging techniques under indirect supervision. You will conduct a variety of interventional radiology procedures for patients across all age groups, ensuring high-quality imaging and professional conduct throughout your duties. You will be responsible for recognizing urgent patient conditions and initiating appropriate life support measures when necessary.

  • Process radiographic images accurately using automated systems.
  • Utilize sterile techniques consistently.
  • Operate imaging computers in line with departmental protocols (CT, MRI).
  • Utilize ancillary equipment effectively (e.g., catheters, guidewires).
  • Ensure proper patient positioning for imaging procedures.
  • Utilize immobilization devices as necessary to achieve optimal imaging results.
  • Exercise caution when handling patients with critical conditions to prevent further injury.
  • Understand age-specific needs in patient care, adapting techniques as required.
  • Document clinical activities promptly and accurately.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and departmental policies.
  • Ensure a high standard of service quality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism in a dynamic work environment.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Qualifications:

Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years in Interventional Radiology or completion of an accredited training program.
Education
  • N/A.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Basic Life Support certification within three months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced qualification certificate: ARRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
  • Venipuncture Certificate
  • Additional training in angiography interventional procedures
Notes:
  • This position may require after-hours, weekend, and holiday availability.
  • Worker location must align with Kaiser Permanente's policies.
