Overview:

At Aspire Living & Learning, we are dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of individuals with autism and other disabilities. We are currently looking for a Music Educator to join our Approved Private Special Education Programs, where you will play a crucial role in delivering tailored music instruction to our students.

Work Schedule:

Our school operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with both part-time and full-time positions available.

Compensation:

The salary for this role ranges from $30 to $38 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of music standards and educational curriculum.
  • Implement the music curriculum in alignment with the organization's mission.
  • Utilize a diverse range of musical repertoire to facilitate learning experiences that encourage students to analyze and evaluate artistic expressions.
  • Continuously assess student progress in music, adapting instructional methods to meet individual needs.
  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction tailored to students' needs.
  • Employ various teaching techniques and principles to foster students' appreciation and mastery of musical skills.
  • Create a positive and personalized learning environment.
  • Manage music supplies and instruments, ensuring proper inventory and functionality.
  • Review and apply modifications and interventions to support student needs.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills relevant to the role.
  • Conduct training as required.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors to support organizational operations.
  • Be adaptable to reassignment as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred CT Certification #049 Music PK-12.
  • Knowledge of music standards and curriculum.
  • Must pass satisfactory background checks.
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Working Conditions:

This position primarily involves classroom work, with expectations to monitor and engage with students during various activities. The role may involve addressing challenging behaviors, requiring patience and effective management strategies. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and engage in various physical activities.
