Reporting To: Production Manager

Position Summary:

The Packaging Associate is responsible for efficiently packaging products according to production directives, schedules, and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately follows instructions provided by Team Leaders or the Production Manager, seeking clarification when necessary.
  • Reviews production orders and any special directives, asking for further details if needed.
  • Coordinates with Material Handlers to ensure material availability for production or packaging needs.
  • Ensures product quality meets or exceeds standards set by both the customer and Jessup Manufacturing, identifying and reporting any defects.
  • Records material usage meticulously on work orders.
  • Labels finished products with essential information, including part numbers, work order numbers, and customer details, while also labeling unused raw materials for return.
  • Identifies and reports any existing or potential packaging issues to the Team Leader or Production Manager.
  • Proposes enhancements to processes to boost quality, efficiency, safety, and communication.
  • Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality as per company guidelines.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols, promptly addressing or reporting unsafe conditions, and keeps the workspace organized and clean.
  • Demonstrates the Jessup Success Factors throughout all responsibilities.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This is an entry-level position.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret production orders and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in accurately recording data.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Ability to read a tape measure with precision.
  • Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and perform necessary movements to transfer materials.

Work Schedule: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 40 hours per week.
