Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly skilled Construction Attorney to enhance our legal team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in a dynamic work environment, addressing a variety of construction-related legal issues.

The successful candidate will be tasked with managing construction defect litigation and defense matters. This position offers a unique chance to tackle complex and challenging legal issues within the construction sector.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in construction law, exhibit strategic thinking, and demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on a broad spectrum of construction-related issues, including contract disputes, construction defects, and defense matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various types of construction contracts, such as design-build, EPC, and traditional design-bid-build agreements.
  • Represent the organization in construction defect litigation, employing robust defense strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp project objectives, identify legal risks, and offer strategic legal advice.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Stay informed about changes in construction law, regulations, and industry practices that may affect the organization.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the state bar.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Construction Attorney, ideally with a focus on construction defect and defense.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing construction defect litigation and defense matters.
  • Strong understanding of construction law, contract law, and dispute resolution.
  • Exceptional negotiation, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound legal judgments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to upholding high ethical standards and confidentiality.
