JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for constructing and wiring production assemblies, replacing and repairing hardware, and contributing to the development of future production assemblies. Tasks include soldering, wiring, fiber optics, and similar assembly activities to meet program and business goals efficiently and with high quality.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: To excel in this position, an individual must competently perform each essential task. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but is not limited to)
  • Proficient computer skills: Ability to utilize various software programs related to time tracking, access to production planning, and business instructions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work with; drawings, schematics, wiring lists, diagrams, work instructions, sketches, travelers, planning, and verbal directions.
  • Perform related tasks as necessary and be capable of executing all responsibilities of R-16 Job Classification.
  • Set up and maintain the workstation and associated materials, including soldering and cleaning stations, managing age-controlled items, hazardous materials, and consumables.
  • Conduct material identification and paint touch-ups.
  • May provide work direction/training to other team members as assigned.
  • May verify the work of other employees.
  • Must be able to obtain necessary certifications, licenses, and registrations as outlined in the qualifications below.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and perform duties responsibly.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in various units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Competence in calculating rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting graphs. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to seek clarification when instructions are unclear.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While executing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and use hands to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; and communicate effectively for 8 hours a day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without mechanical assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role. While executing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to variations in work area temperature, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
