Position Summary

The Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician plays a crucial role in the safe production of pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs within one of Corden Pharma's advanced manufacturing facilities. This position involves executing various unit operations on raw materials and intermediates following established manufacturing protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The Technician is expected to have hands-on experience with manufacturing process equipment and material handling, ensuring equipment is prepared for maintenance and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering strong, transparent, and effective daily working relationships across Manufacturing, Maintenance & Facilities, R&D, internal support, regulatory groups, and customers.
  • Collaborating closely with team members and supervision to safely meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of plant equipment, infrastructure systems, and chemical processing principles within designated Centers of Excellence.
  • Strictly adhering to written procedures and accurately documenting operations in compliance with cGMP and Corden Pharma SOPs.
  • Conducting thorough checks of the work performed by fellow operators.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in setting up and executing operations efficiently, alongside understanding computer systems relevant to standard operations.
  • Participating in Emergency Brigade training and serving as a hazmat technician, firefighter, and first aid responder.
  • Responding appropriately to plant disturbances and emergency situations.
  • Identifying and addressing potential hazards during daily operations.
  • Attending mandatory GMP training sessions and demonstrating knowledge of current Corden GMP, SOPs, and Chemical Operator Training Program.
  • Maintaining safety and housekeeping standards and engaging in safety programs.
  • Managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation and monitoring environmental systems.
  • Conducting training sessions for peers to meet production requirements.
  • Reading and understanding safety protocols and instructions related to maintenance and equipment use.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with a minimum of 3 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and understand metrics.
  • Reasoning ability to follow instructions and troubleshoot processes.
  • Physical capability to perform essential functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in various physical tasks.
Work Environment

Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, and exposure to various chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required during work.
