Exercise Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Specialist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As an Exercise Specialist, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of hospital cardiac rehab/fitness programs, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and implement treatment in coordination with the multidisciplinary team for all scopes of Cardiac patients.
- Assess and service patients/members to meet the established program guidelines.
- Assist in the supervision of Students and Volunteers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of hospital cardiac rehab/fitness programs.
- Assure that the fitness equipment is well maintained and minimizes downtime.
- Educate internal and external customers on the practice & guidelines of cardiovascular disease, rehabilitation, and exercise prescription and admission process.
- Monitor adequate and appropriate patient exercise sessions/treatments.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary patient/member teaching process.
- Perform clinical exercise prescription for monitor/non-monitored cardiac rehab patients.
- Record statistical information for manager as assigned and document on patient treatment as required by hospital regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology required.
- One to three years of clinical experience.
- Certification preferred (e.g., ACSM, ACE-Clinical Specialist, NSCS, Clinical Exercise Physiology).
- ACLS and BLS-certified.
