Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housing Assistance Technician. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective management of our housing assistance programs.

About the Position

  • This position involves working closely with applicants/participants to determine eligibility for public housing or housing assistance programs.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for informing applicants/participants of regulations affecting their rights and obligations.
  • A key aspect of this role is ensuring programmatic and policy compliance of participant files.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborating with applicants/participants to gather necessary information.
  2. Investigating eligibility for public housing or housing assistance programs.
  3. Providing information to applicants/participants about regulations affecting their rights and obligations.
  4. Ensuring programmatic and policy compliance of participant files.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with economically disadvantaged individuals and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year, depending on experience. The Newark Housing Authority offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, dental, life insurance, and retirement plans.
