Position Overview

Linchpin Solutions Inc is seeking a skilled and motivated Tactical SATCOM Operator to enhance our team. This role is essential for ensuring the effective operation of tactical satellite communication systems.

Security Clearance: Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance

Work Environment: Onsite

Role Responsibilities

The Tactical SATCOM Operator will be responsible for:

  • Providing daily operational support for tactical satellite systems, including SNAP, SWAN, ISA, Micro VSAT, and tactical SATCOM radios.
  • Supporting the Air Force Nuclear Command and Control & Communications Weapon System (AN/USQ-225) nodes with maintenance and operational assistance.
  • Delivering onsite support and performing necessary maintenance in the field as directed by the Government.
Essential Skills

General Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to conduct presentations and briefings as required.

Technical Expertise:

  • Formal training in tactical SATCOM systems operation.
  • Knowledge of Protocol/Network Theory.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting DMVPN Architecture.
  • Proficiency in routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP.
  • Understanding of switching fundamentals such as VLANs, VTP, Port Security, and Spanning Tree.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Encryption Concepts within DMVPN Architecture.
  • Knowledge of TCP Acceleration over Satellite concepts.
  • Experience in installing, operating, and maintaining Tactical VSAT systems and various satellite terminals.
  • Ability to configure and integrate COMSEC equipment into tactical SATCOM systems.
  • Management of telecommunication installation supplies and daily inventory maintenance.
  • Provision of training on tactical SATCOM equipment as needed.
  • Flexibility to handle additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • 3-7 years of experience in Satellite Communications.
  • 2 years of experience in a tactical environment, specifically with antenna controllers and satellite modems.
  • Familiarity with both commercial and military satellite acquisition procedures.
  • Experience with Satellite Line of Sight and Near Line of Sight transport methods.
