Key Responsibilities:
The Estimator will oversee and guide estimating activities, managing a team as necessary. Key duties include:
  • Assessing and analyzing requests for estimates
  • Reviewing construction documents to understand the scope of work
  • Preparing detailed cost analyses, including materials, labor, and equipment
  • Executing take-offs from construction documents
  • Utilizing estimating software to input take-off data
  • Participating in client pre-bid meetings and site visits
  • Generating proposals and ensuring all necessary documentation is included
  • Maintaining cost estimating tools and databases
  • Facilitating communication between departments regarding estimating activities

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Three years of experience in civil construction estimating
  • Familiarity with construction estimating software

Bonus Skills:
  • OSHA certification
  • General knowledge of the construction industry
  • A sense of humor is a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer
  • Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds
