Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced affiliate faculty member to teach in our Department of Communication Studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver. As an affiliate faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in communication studies, including public speaking, communication theory, and organizational communication.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students and providing robust feedback in a timely manner.
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans, and grade student work.
  • Address student questions and provide online or in-person academic support as needed.
  • Maintain office hours and comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a Master's degree in Communication Studies or a relevant discipline. A Doctorate in Communication Studies or a relevant discipline is preferred. Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to improving access to higher education for underrepresented groups are highly valued.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program.
