Job Summary:

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Optronics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing precision optical assemblies and visual display systems. You will also lead product prototype development, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to continuous process improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop custom tooling and fixtures
Lead product prototype development
Prepare technical documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and procedures
Contribute to continuous process improvement activities

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree
U.S. person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations
Strong computer skills and experience with SolidWorks, CREO, or NX CAD software
Strong conceptual, planning, problem-solving, and designing skills
Communication, teamwork, and people skills are essential for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

Visual displays, opto-mechanical, or electro-optics experience
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Proficient with hand tools and light power tools
Experience working as part of a team to solve technical problems
