Overview

The Electrical Project Manager is tasked with overseeing service requests from clients and managing projects from the estimation phase through to completion. This role is pivotal in expanding our customer base through proactive and effective client interactions.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary:

  • Oversee service projects, ensuring thorough pre-planning, accurate cost tracking, efficient billing, comprehensive project documentation, and successful project closure.
  • Maintain and enhance existing customer relationships, delivering exceptional service to foster growth within our division. Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of field service technicians for various jobs, making adjustments as required.
  • Allocate project manpower on a weekly basis to ensure efficient operations.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for service projects.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting department on billing processes.
  • Contribute to achieving annual revenue and profit margin targets for the service department.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in estimating and/or managing commercial construction projects.
  • Experience in the electrical field is required; a licensed electrician is preferred.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with customers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized and follow up on tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage tasks effectively.
  • Capability to identify and meet customer expectations and requirements.
  • Professional interaction skills with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.

Software Proficiency

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with Spectrum Construction Software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Conest Estimating Software is advantageous.

Language Proficiency

Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English, collaborating with various stakeholders, including customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, and other contractors.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include regular sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing. Employees must be able to use their hands for handling objects and tools, as well as walk, reach, climb, and balance. Occasional lifting of up to twenty-five (25) pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Employees can expect to work in an environment that may include long periods of computer use and travel to various locations as needed. Field visits may expose employees to outdoor conditions, including wet or humid environments, moving mechanical and electrical parts, and varying weather conditions.
