Overview
The Electrical Project Manager is tasked with overseeing service requests from clients and managing projects from the estimation phase through to successful completion. This role is also pivotal in expanding our customer base through proactive and effective client interactions.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to this role, with the possibility of additional responsibilities:
- Oversee service projects, ensuring thorough pre-planning, accurate cost tracking, timely billing, comprehensive project documentation, and effective project closure.
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships, delivering exceptional service to foster growth within our division. Identify and promote new business opportunities.
- Coordinate field service technicians for various jobs, adjusting schedules as necessary.
- Project manpower requirements on a weekly basis.
- Prepare detailed estimates for service projects.
- Collaborate with the Accounting department on billing processes.
- Contribute to achieving annual revenue and profit margin targets for the service department.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in estimating and/or managing commercial construction projects.
- Prior electrical field experience is essential; a licensed electrician is preferred.
- Proven experience in customer engagement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to follow up on tasks effectively.
- Capacity to prioritize work and manage tasks efficiently.
- Ability to understand and meet customer expectations and requirements.
- Professional interaction skills with all levels of employees, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Software Proficiency
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Familiarity with Spectrum Construction Software is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Conest Estimating Software is a plus.
Language Proficiency
Effective communication in English is required, along with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders including customers, employees, unions, and vendors.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role include the ability to sit for extended periods, use hands for various tasks, and navigate job sites. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
