Job Overview

Bergelectric is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost, time, materials, labor, and equipment required for electrical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate project plans and specifications to identify project requirements and create bid proposals.
  • Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available documents.
  • Analyze projects for value engineering options and identify potential issues.
  • Oversee and manage estimators and ensure that resources are managed and deadlines are met.
  • Prepare detailed scope documents, RFPs, RFIs, quotes, and estimates.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Prepare bid documents, including specific scope letters and evaluations.
  • Assist in preparing budget pricing and attend estimating/sales meetings.
  • Perform job walks to ensure that field conditions have been observed that may affect the construction.
  • Manage preconstruction activities during the design phase on design-build and design-assist projects.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of electrical estimating experience for commercial and industrial projects.
  • Accustomed to estimating for projects valued at $5 million and above.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience utilizing Accubid and Accubid LiveCount is preferred.
  • Prior experience estimating multi-million electrical projects in the industrial/commercial industry.
  • Design/build experience required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
