Role Overview:
The Aero Mechanical Field Service Engineer will be responsible for overseeing site activities, which include planning, organizing, integrating, and monitoring resources such as personnel, tools, and technical support to meet contractual obligations. This position requires making informed decisions within established guidelines, applying concepts to intricate challenges, and resolving issues through immediate actions or short-term strategies at customer facilities. The role encompasses the installation and upkeep of Gas Turbines. The Engineer will report to the Plant Manager or the designated Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, coordinate, and execute activities related to Aero Mechanical systems.
  • Conduct on-site installation of systems and equipment, along with ongoing preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations post-installation.
  • Perform Borescope Inspections for gas turbine units.
  • Execute maintenance tasks for various turbine models, including Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests for malfunctioning equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at their sites.
  • Handle administrative duties such as drafting technical reports, ordering materials, obtaining quotes, and preparing job status updates.
  • Ensure all modifications are documented and approved.
  • Promote customer satisfaction through a commitment to quality service.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure that all work complies with Prismecs' safety standards.
  • Possess the knowledge to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checks on a wide range of equipment.
  • Mentor and train junior Field Engineers and team members as necessary.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports for customer records and future reference.
  • Ensure all necessary parts are delivered to the job site.
  • Conduct walk-downs during installations to verify proper contractor performance.
  • Implement aftermarket upgrades at the site level as required.
  • Be willing to work in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, as dictated by field assignments.
  • Travel extensively to various project sites and field assignments.
  • May undertake additional duties to support Prismecs' vision and align with our core values.
  • Possess the knowledge and skills to effectively support field service activities and know where to find answers to emerging questions.

  • General Machinery Knowledge
  • Experience with Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment.
  • Pipe fitting and tubing skills.
Qualifications:
  • Technical/University degree or equivalent experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Field Services role with gas turbines.
  • Proficiency in English, Spanish, or French (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • 5+ years of experience in field services or maintenance of power generation equipment.
  • Experience with Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment.
  • Successful completion of required training programs is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Gas Turbine Operations and Control Parameters.
  • Technical competence in interpreting electrical/mechanical diagrams and using alignment and thermal growth equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Extensive experience in Field Engineering Services.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of HSE, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS standards.
