Position Summary

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in managing construction initiatives, ensuring that projects adhere to budgetary constraints, timelines, and quality standards that align with the client's goals and expectations. This role involves collaborating with clients and general contractors to formulate project execution strategies, logistics plans, and safety protocols specific to each project. Additionally, the Project Manager assists clients during the project initiation phase, which includes reviewing construction contracts, staffing plans, budgets, and project methodologies.

This is a full-time, permanent role that may involve working from our headquarters and various client sites.

Successful candidates may be hired at levels I, II, III, or Senior based on educational background and relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with clients and general contractors to create project execution strategies, logistics plans, and safety protocols.
  • Assist clients with project setup, including contract reviews, staffing plans, budgets, and methodologies.
  • Effectively predict and manage construction support resources.
  • Prepare project budgets based on scope and resource needs.
  • Monitor project expenses to ensure alignment with the budget.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule and work plan.
  • Formulate subcontractor scopes, manage buyouts, and oversee daily operations.
  • Solicit and secure contractors through the RFP process.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and provide constructive feedback to contractors.
  • Implement safety and quality control audits on construction sites.
  • Review and approve contractor submissions and coordinate with engineering teams.
  • Establish and manage quality control, documentation, and communication plans.
  • Provide consistent project updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage contracts with contractors and consultants.
  • Adhere to industry best practices, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Evaluate project performance to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with the project team, owners, design teams, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor in a fast-paced work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Field, or Life Sciences Applied Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience for a Project Manager I
  • 8+ years of experience for a Project Manager II
  • 10+ years of experience for a Project Manager III
  • 15+ years of experience for a Senior Project Manager
  • Possession of a contractor's license is advantageous.
  • Experience in regulated industries with knowledge of compliance requirements, including FDA regulations and Good Engineering Practices (GEP).
  • Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) related to cGMP in various manufacturing and processing sectors.
  • Previous project experience in technologies such as manufacturing systems, clean rooms, sterilization processes, and automated systems.

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Work is conducted indoors in an office setting and at job sites, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Protective gear is mandatory on-site.
  • Job duties may involve extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive computer and phone use.
  • Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
  • Ability to navigate and inspect all areas of job sites in various weather conditions.
  • Travel may be necessary.
  • Exposure to typical construction site hazards.
  • Availability for on-call duties to address project-related issues.
