Key Responsibilities

  1. Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
    1. Ensure the precision and promptness of the accounting department's operations.
    2. Establish and maintain robust financial controls.
    3. Supervise entries to the General Ledger.
    4. Complete monthly financial closures.
    5. Generate monthly and year-to-date financial reports along with departmental operational summaries.
    6. Manage bi-weekly payroll processes.
    7. Oversee payroll distribution.
    8. Maintain records for Workers Compensation and group insurance.
    9. Review various expense reports for accuracy.
    10. Provide necessary information for auditors.
    11. Monitor accounts receivable and notes receivable.
    12. Ensure general office functions are adequately covered.
    13. Prepare County cost reports and manage discrepancy appeals.
    14. Assist the Vice President of Finance and Administration with special projects and reports.
    15. Train and assess new Accounting Assistants.
    16. Organize, delegate responsibilities, and motivate staff within the Administration and Corporate office.
    17. Ensure security for confidential documents.
    18. Recommend operational and capital budgets, ensuring adherence to agency guidelines.
    19. Engage in activities that promote the agency's growth and development in serving youths, families, and individuals.
    20. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and service providers to advance agency objectives.
    21. Demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic sensitivity in all interactions.
    22. Familiarity with Sage Intacct software is preferred.
    23. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred; a minimum of five years of accounting experience, including bookkeeping through trial balance.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Completion of an online application is required.
