About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Manager, Software Engineering to join our team at Intuit Inc. as a key member of our Systems and Operational Engineering organization.

This role will be responsible for leading a high-performing engineering team, driving innovation and building new engineering solutions, improving and enhancing existing solutions, and leveraging engineering solutions to solve critical operational problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality platform capabilities that simplify and solve for current business needs while building for the future.
  • Engineering Excellence: Deliver platform capabilities with Engineering and Operational Excellence, leading to outstanding outcomes for our developers and customers.
  • Change Management: Lead positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
  • Innovation: Innovate and embrace new ideas that produce outstanding results for our customers.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships that are essential to delivering awesome software, with partners in PM, PMO, XD, and more.
  • Technology Adoption: Responsible for initiating and driving the adoption of technology, product and process improvements throughout the software delivery life cycle.
  • Team Management: Provide technical leadership, career development, and management of performance, objectives, and priorities of all reporting staff - Build a high performing, results-oriented organization.
  • Requirements Management: Drive and own the functional and non-functional requirements road map for your organization.
  • Customer Advocacy: Develop product expertise and advocate on behalf of the customer.
  • Testing and Automation: Drive initiatives to improve testing at all levels & deliver automation to ensure robustness and a seamless customer experience.
  • Best Practices: Drive adoption of best practices, tools, systems and metrics across the organization.
  • Excellence Coaching: Imbibe and coach excellence in product, engineering and operations.
Requirements
  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
  • Technical Leadership: 12+ years of experience in delivering software products with 3+ years of experience as an established technical leader of software engineering teams that have successfully delivered software products.
  • Coding Experience: 6+ years coding experience.
  • Scalability: 5+ years of significant experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust products and platforms.
  • Agile and Lean: Strong belief in agile and lean thinking with a passion for velocity, engineering and operational excellence.
  • Software Development Fundamentals: Solid software development fundamentals (Data Structures, algorithms, problem solving, OO Design, and system architecture) with specialization on end to end software development using modern SaaS / public cloud deployments with a DevOps mindset.
  • Communication: Expert communicator and love working with multiple stakeholders for common outcomes with high stakes at company level.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen. Understands the business internal and external landscape and thinks/acts strategically for all stakeholders.
  • Technology Reuse: Drives strategic technology/engine reuse, technology and architecture health, and development process improvement.
  • Leadership: A highly technical and result-oriented leader experienced in determining goals and matching those with customer requirements and product roadmap.
  • Change Management: Adept at leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
